Richard Clow

Richard is the founder of both Bodywise Fitness and IF Studio. He has over 15 years experience as a Fitness Professional in Hong Kong and the U.K.

Richard believes an all round approach to health and fitness is the key to achieving goals, whether its weight loss, pain free functional movement or mixed martial arts performance. He has UK certification in Personal Training, Sports Massage, Sport Psychology, and Nutrition for Health and Fitness (among others, see full qualifications list below).

Richard mixes resistance training, movement, martial arts and fitness games with flexibility training and regular testing for a strongly goal focused approach. He has a good grounding in injury rehabilitation and corrective exercise and has worked with many pre and post natal clients.

Whatever your goal is, you have to keep working towards it. Richard knows that the easiest way to keep his clients coming back regularly is to make their fitness fun.

stephanieFrom Hong Kong, I studied in Australia but has recently returned home to make a difference in the community. I am a current Hong Kong squad member of the Women’s Rugby 7’s scholarship athletes program at the Hong Kong Sports Institute, and have previously represented Hong Kong in women’s netball.

I am all about teaching people about how to change their lifestyles for the better, and can’t stress the importance of health education! I have a huge interest in exercise prescription for the elderly, those with chronic diseases and disabilities, as I believe exercise is one of the most underutilized forms of medicine.

Ian Colley

ianTraining in Kyokushin Karate for many years gave me a strong exercise work ethic, never give up and keep going to your last breath! This ethic has transferred over to the way I do other exercise also. I like to train hard, but I also like to train safe. An exercises benefits must outweigh its negative aspects. I don’t use unsafe methods myself and I certainly would not use them with my clients. My aim is to impart my knowledge and knowhow to my clients so that they go away empowered and confident in the knowledge that they could perform the same exercises by themselves.

I started working with Ian following a serious shoulder injury. I went from not being able to lift a bag of sugar to pumping out heavy sets within months following a progressive plan that Ian created, and ultimately fully recovering from the injury.

We then continued with a cardio and resistance training fitness plan and he helped me shed 12 kilos ahead of my wedding day, the best I’d looked in years. Ian is knowledgeable and sensible, and a great guy. I can’t recommend him enough.

ericsonEricson had been very active and skinny since he was little. He used to be a soccer representative participating in numerous different district competitions in Hong Kong. In order to gain weight and to become a stronger person, he starts to learn Thai boxing and to do workout at the age of 18. Eventually he successfully gained 2x lbs. in 2 years. Since then, he strongly believed that health is unbelievably important and it is irreplaceable.

He started to be a certified trainer since 2010, so that he is able to lead by example and to encourage his students to get into the habit of exercising regularly to improve their health. Unfortunately, he found that eating incorrectly, skipping weight exercises and working under pressure run deep in Hong Kong and will seriously damage our health. Thus, changing people’s outlook and making people healthier has been his motivation.

Nils Beiskjaer

nilsNils was born in Denmark and moved to Finland at an early age, where he began his fitness and martial arts journey in Wado-Ryu Karate. Since then, he has accumulated over 15 years of training in various systems, including karate, Krav Maga, boxing, kickboxing, Muay Thai and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. As a personal trainer, he specializes in strength & conditioning training using a multitude of tools and methods, including free weights, kettlebells, suspension training, bodyweight training and much more.

He also teaches self defense, and is certified as a Krav Maga instructor under Krav Maga Core. His approach to training is with a strong focus on intensity once proper form has been achieved. This produces the maximum amount of results in a short period of time, while ensuring all the necessary safety criteria > are fulfilled first.

Martine Pellegrini Petit

Martine has a natural passion for living a healthy and active lifestyle. She has been working as a trainer since 2008 and has been described by her clients as a ‘drill sergeant with a smile’.
